United Arab Emirates

Sometimes referred to as the 'Emirati Flag', the flag of the United Arab Emirates is designed in the style of a letter 'E'. Made up of traditional Arab colours, the red forms the back of the 'E', the top dash is green, the middle is white and the bottom is black.

The flag was conceived jointly by the seven Emirates and was officially adopted in 1971.
