Republic of Bulgaria

The colours used in the National flag of Bulgaria are white, green and red and are symbolic of peace, fertility of the land, and courage of the peope - respectively. These colours were once used in the flag of Eastern Rumelia - now a part of Bulgaria.

This flag was first adopted on the 16th of April 1897.
