Republic of Cyprus

The colours of the flag of Cyprus were chosen because of their symbolic meanings.

White is a sign of peace for the Turkish and the Greek communities living there, yellow is representative of the metal copper which got it's name from the island itself, and green - a symbol of the olive - again stands for peace.
