Republic of Croatia

The colours in the Croatian flag are symbolic of the following: red for the blood of Croatian Martyrs; white for the 'lamb like' nature of the peaceful people of Croatia; and blue for the Croatian devotion to God.

Red, white and blue have been used for the Croatian flag since 1848, and the flag was officially adopted on the 21st of December 1990, a year before gaining independence from Yugoslavia.
