Nepal

The flag of Nepal is composed from two separate pennants from the Rana dynasty, and is the only National flag that is not rectangular. Although in use for some time, the double pennant was only officially adopted in 1962.

The moon represents the royal house and the sun represents a branch of the Rana family. This symbolism refers to the hope that Nepal will last for as long as there is a moon and sun in the sky.
