Sultanate of Oman

The colours used in the National flag of Oman are symbolic of the following: white for the conviction of the people in peace and prosperity, red for the battles fought against invaders, and green for the lush and fertile land.

The flag which carries the emblem of the Sultanate, namely two crossed swords with khanjar and belt, was first raised on the 17th of December 1970.
