Republic of Slovakia

The colours used in the National Flag of Slovakia are traditional Slavic colours and have been used since the mid 19th Century and were an influence from the flag of Russia.

The coat of arms is a modified version of the Hungarian coat of arms and is representative of Latvia past links. The cross is symbolic of Orthodox Christianity and the mountains represent the Tatra, Fatra and Matra mountain ranges.
