Republic of Uganda

The colours used in the National flag of Uganda are derived from the 'Uganda People's Congress' and are said to represent: black for the African people, yellow for Africa's sunshine, and red for the blood connecting all Africans. The bird, used for the military badge of the Ugandan soldiers during British rule, is fabled for its gentle nature.

This flag was officially adopted on the 9th of October 1962.
