United States of America

The colours on the U.S. flag have no official meaning, however, according to the Great Seal of the United States, red stands for hardiness and valour, white for purity and innocence, and blue for vigilance, perseverance and justice.

The stars represent the fifty states and the stripes represent the thirteen colonies.

It has changed 26 times since Congress approved the first official United States Flag in 1777 and the current version is from 1960.
